Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 6005ST Jumbo – B-Serial

Early Jumbo “Large Model” Quartz with rare two-line dial (Audemars Piguet only)

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 6005ST is one of the earliest large-format quartz executions of the Royal Oak line, produced exclusively during the B-serial period in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Measuring approximately 35 mm, it offers the most balanced and wearable size among AP’s early quartz references — far closer to the proportions of the original 5402 than the smaller 30–33 mm models of the same era.

This example features the rare and highly desirable two-line dial, signed simply “Audemars Piguet.”

This minimalist configuration appears only on early B-serial production, before AP transitioned to the “Audemars Piguet Quartz” signature. Surviving examples in this early layout are notably uncommon and increasingly sought after.

The 6005ST marks an important moment in AP’s history: a quartz model introduced during the height of the Quartz Crisis, yet executed with the same uncompromising finishing as the mechanical Royal Oaks. The vertically brushed steel, octagonal bezel with white-gold screws, sharply finished bevels, and integrated bracelet give this reference the full Royal Oak DNA, with significantly lower production numbers than most later models.
