Longines Ref. 2326 – Black Sector Dial – 1938
Rare and attractive Longines reference 2326 in stainless steel, dating from 1938.
The watch features a beautiful black sector dial with Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 and subsidiary seconds. The dial has developed attractive, honest patina, giving the watch a very strong and authentic vintage character.
The stainless-steel case measures approximately 32.5 mm, but wears noticeably larger thanks to its balanced proportions and relatively large dial opening.
Powered by the manually wound Longines calibre 12.68Z.
The watch is accompanied by an official Longines Extract from the Archives, confirming reference 2326, stainless steel, calibre 12.68Z and delivery on 29 December 1938 to Ostersetzer, Longines’ agent for Italy.
A comparable black-dial Longines ref. 2326 was sold by Phillips for CHF 32,760. Phillips also highlighted the aesthetic similarity to a stainless-steel Patek Philippe ref. 96 with a closely related sector-dial design.
