A very rare and highly attractive 1940s Doxa, housed in an original 35mm stainless steel Borgel (FB) screw-back case — identical to the cases used on the legendary Patek Philippe Ref. 565 from the same era.
These FB cases are among the most desirable vintage case constructions ever made, known for their waterproof design, strong lugs and beautiful proportions. Seeing the exact same case architecture on a Doxa makes this watch incredibly interesting from a collector’s perspective.
What truly makes this example stand out is the original black gilt radium dial. Even silver dial Doxas from this period are already difficult to find today, but an original black gilt radium dial is on an entirely different level of rarity. The warm radium aging and glossy gilt surface give the watch an incredible vintage presence.
