About this watch
A beautiful and exceptionally well-preserved Recta wristwatch from the 1940s, featuring a striking two-tone copper-bronze and black dial with oversized radium Arabic numerals, radium-filled hands and a contrasting subsidiary seconds dial.
The approximately 30 mm stainless steel waterproof case was manufactured by the renowned Swiss casemaker François Borgel (FB), featuring a distinctive design closely resembling the Borgel cases used for the Patek Philippe reference 437.
The warm bronze-brown tones, contrasting black outer chapter ring and bold luminous numerals give this charming vintage Recta a wonderful Art Deco character.
Powered by a manually wound movement and preserved in very good overall condition, this is a particularly attractive example of 1940s Swiss watchmaking.
