About this watch

A beautiful Rolex Day-Date ref. 1803 in 18k yellow gold, featuring an unusual champagne pie-pan dial with the sought-after 5-minute track, displaying Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals.

The dial and matching gold hands are completely free of luminous material, a particularly attractive and less commonly seen configuration.

The 36mm case features the classic fluted bezel, acrylic crystal and is fitted with an 18k yellow gold President bracelet. Powered by a Rolex automatic chronometer movement, with a German day wheel.

The watch is in excellent overall condition, with a very well-preserved case showing strong, sharp lines and possibly never polished.

Another lovely detail is the original low-profile acrylic crystal, which has survived on this example. Most have been replaced over the years with a slightly higher crystal. The original crystal shows some light surface scratches, which are also visible in the photographs. The dial itself is completely free of scratches.

A lovely example of a classic vintage Day-Date.
